Limerock base is the foundation of South Florida roads. It has to be placed in lifts, brought to optimum moisture, compacted to 98 percent of modified Proctor and primed before asphalt ever arrives. When a lot fails early, the base is almost always why, and it is almost always because the base and the paving were two different companies.
We own the excavators, loaders and rollers and employ the operators. On a new parking lot or a subdivision road we take the site from clearing through finished grade, build the base, and then our own paving crew places the asphalt on it. One company owns the result.
For developers and GCs we also handle the civil package around a building: parking fields, drive aisles, drainage, curbing and sidewalk, so the site contractor and the paver are not pointing at each other over a low spot.
