Water service and sanitary sewer connections in Miami-Dade and Broward

Connecting a property to the water main or the sewer means cutting the street, making the tap, passing the utility inspection and putting the road back. We do all of it, so you are not coordinating a plumber, a paving company and a concrete sub.

Utility connections in Miami-Dade are a paperwork and sequencing job as much as a digging job. Miami-Dade Water and Sewer, or the city utility, has to approve the connection, schedule the tap, and inspect the lateral before it is covered. The county then inspects the pavement restoration. We have done this enough times to know the order and who to call.

We have built sanitary sewer lines and service laterals in the right-of-way for prime contractors on Miami-Dade WASD projects, and we install individual water services and sewer laterals for homeowners, developers and condominiums. The trench is backfilled and compacted in lifts, and the asphalt, sidewalk and curb are restored permanently by our own crews.

If your property is on septic and the sewer is in the street, we handle the abandonment, the new lateral, the connection and the restoration as one job.

Sanitary sewer laterals & tie-ins

New laterals from the main to the property line or cleanout, including the tap, inspection and restoration.

Septic-to-sewer conversions

Septic tank abandonment, new lateral and connection to the public sewer.

Fire line & irrigation taps

Larger-diameter taps and service lines for fire protection and irrigation.

Sewer mains & manholes

Gravity sewer pipe, manholes and laterals in the right-of-way for public and private development.

Roadway & sidewalk restoration

Permanent asphalt, concrete and curb restoration of every cut, matched to the existing section.

For GCs and public agencies

We have performed sanitary sewer lines and laterals as a sub to MCM on the Miami-Dade WASD West Little River project and handle the base work and resurfacing on the same contract. We can price utility work, trench restoration and paving together so the prime has one sub responsible for the cut and the patch.

For homeowners, HOAs and property managers

New construction, a second meter, or a septic conversion: we tell you up front what the utility needs from you, handle the permit and the tap, and leave the street looking like it was never opened.

Questions we get asked

How long does a new water service take in Miami-Dade?

The digging is one to two days. The timeline is driven by MDWASD or city utility approval and the tap scheduling, which can take several weeks. We start the paperwork as soon as you sign so the utility clock starts early.

Can I connect to the sewer myself if it is in the street?

Work in the right-of-way requires a licensed contractor, a permit and utility inspection. We handle all three.

Do you do the plumbing inside the house?

We take the service or lateral to the property line or the first cleanout, which is where the utility’s jurisdiction ends. Your plumber connects from there. We coordinate with them so the work lines up.

Who restores the road after the trench?

We do. Our asphalt and concrete crews do the permanent restoration, and we handle the county’s restoration inspection.
