Residential Street Paving, Miami Lakes

A quiet, tree-lined Miami Lakes neighborhood: residential streets and a cul-de-sac resurfaced in a single day, performed by Pimentel as a subcontractor to Hartec.

The existing surface was prepared and tack-coated, then our crew placed new hot-mix asphalt with a self-propelled paver, raked the edges and joints by hand, and compacted the mat with a tandem roller. The new surface was tied into the brick-paver and stamped-concrete driveways along the street and finished around the manholes and curb inlets.

Residential streets are judged by the edges: smooth transitions at every driveway, no lips at the inlets, and clean lines along the grass. That is where the hand work goes.
